|The Geronimo Springs Museum is located in downtown Truth or Consequences right next to the Geronimo Hot Springs where Native Americans and early cowboys came to rest and bathe in the hot mineral water.|
|Las Palomas Plaza and fountain at the site of the original hot springs adjacent to Geronimo Springs Museum, dedicated in March 2001, features colorful ceramic mountains and waterfalls, and benches with tiles reflecting the history of the area. It was created by New Mexico artist Shel Neymark.|
|The museum gift shop has a wide array of items including clothing, books and authentic jewelry, all with a cultural flair. You will find wonderful gifts and souvenirs that will be of interest to everyone.|
museum portrays Sierra County
from prehistoric times to the present day.
The first room you enter from the gift shop
has a Mastodon and a Mammoth skull.
Both were found in this area. There is also
a display of rocks and other fossils.
Apache Room has a
life size wax statue of the
famous Apache, Geronimo,
as well as information of his
life. Other Apache leaders
and their way of life are
exhibited in this room.
Hispanic Heritage Room
gives the history of Hispanic
settlers in the area.
The room has a territorial gate
featuring some of the first
Hispanic families, with a complete
alter adjacent to it.
Farm and Ranch Rooms
show a variety of tools
used by early farmers and
ranchers, men as well as
the ladies. On display is an
authentic "Chuck Box" once
used by a local ranch.

(Zuni for all kinds of pottery)
is our very special room displaying a very extensive pottery collection including,
Mimbres, Tularosa, Alma,
and Hohokam pottery. Many other Native American artifacts such as arrowheads and other tools are on display.

is a standing album that tells about
the old forts of this area, Elephant
Butte and Caballo Dams, and all the
small communities and Ghost Towns
of the area.

Ralph Edwards Room has the
story of why the city came to be called Truth or Consequences. There is memorabilia and information on the annual Fiesta, and photos of all the famous stars that have attended these Fiestas.
|The Heritage Room has a flowing fountain with giant murals in the background showing our heritage down through the ages. The New Mexico Old Time Fiddlers Hall of Fame is also located in this room.|
